Tips for a successful visit
Create a Buzz around the visit! Consider…
- Choosing a theme such as, “Wear Pockets Day”, “Dress Like Your Favorite Song Day”!
- Ordering a few copies of my book so children are familiar with it! (I’m happy to sign them when I visit.)
Ideas for Funding a Visit
- Apply for an Amber Brown Grant (Nov. 1 – April 15) for a chance to win a free author visit + $500
- Ask the Parent/ Teacher Association or other special interest club/fund for assistance
- Apply for a community or educational grant from local organizations (Rotary, Kiwanis, etc.)
Signed Books
I absolutely love signing books! While it’s not a requirement, I do encourage schools to consider coordinating book sales ahead of my visit. It helps build excitement among students and also supports me as an author by keeping my books in circulation. I’m happy to work with you to organize this process once the visit is confirmed.
